Examples for extent below.

Send me 10 to 15€ to my PayPal.Me Account (choose "Friends and Family" to avoid further costs) and tell me your dA-Name in the message on paypal, then leave a comment or a dm with your wanted character/design/whatever!

Heyoo everyone!
So this year started really busy, my friend :iconatanoscatchmore: and I made a new fan made music video for
"Words of Farewell"'s "THE OUTER RIM"

Watch it here!

We recorded our own interpretation of the song, being about freeing your own mind and coming to ratio and reason by breaking down the barriers you thought of protecting you - but imprison you instead.

We are really proud to bring this piece to you, after a full week of hard work, getting up early, preparing, working, recording all day, examining and editing in the spare time... :D
It was a hell lot of fun to do, though exhausting and - yet again - packed with sketchy experiences, I hope you enjoy this little piece of ours!

Have a great day and also belated happy new year everybody!

Greets,

Hellou fellow travellers on the artistic journey.

This year, my dear, has been a rather important one for me.
A lot of things happened, a lot of new stuff did I try my hands on, and a lot of emotional as well as physical influences made me draw and paint certain things. Maybe you're here because of the Art Summary I just uploaded, maybe just from curiosity.

So here are the pictures from the summary and a little telling about the story behind them, what they mean, what made me do them.
So let's start off with this january.
Blues by Scrathed
01.January: "Blues"
Starting this year I struggled with overcoming a minor mental and emotional crisis. And from a mere act of desparation and "burning bridges to the past" I did something that built up an old bridge instead of burning it in the end - I reinstalled contact to a friend I rather lost and actually even suspected lying and betraying me, but in January it turned out that she went through a few terrible phases and finally made it, recovered, and we finally reinstalled contact and friendship. This year, we became better and more honest friends than ever before though we never actually met IRL.
And this is her. A beautiful young woman with beautiful blue hair.

Black is the Soul by Scrathed
02. February: "Black is the Soul" (Or: "Scrath's Return")
I had a recovered friend now, who was able to help me, yet the crisis from prior those events still lingered around in the back of my head and brought back someone else I had almost forgotten: Scrath. He came back with a blunt axe, revengeful, beating me to pieces over the course of several months, just to dig me out of the grave he had just shoved me in to. Well, more or less, at least symbolically and mentally it felt like that.
This drawing represents my feelings at the beginning of the year, confused, a bit disturbed, still torn apart and uncertain where to go, even though the road was straight. Lots of chaos and wild thought stirring up my mind, giving room to the one creature that shouldn't get it - Scrath, my personal guardian daemon, who claimed that room and stays there - and became a vital part of me.
This was the picture that basically made me revive that creature and let it in my life again.
It is also based on a song by the band KoRn, which enabled me to freely express my feelings, inspired by their works.

Shamanic by Scrathed
03. March: "Shamanic"
This drawing is actually one of the very few here that don't have a lot of meaning to it.
It is basically an hommage to a few artists I really admire and was part of my portfolios for applications for design uni and tattoo apprenticeship later the year.
This is indeed a tattoo design, though not actually for me. It is just a shamanic girl with spectral wings, holding high a stags skull.

This Shadow My Likeness by Scrathed
04. April: "This Shadow my Likeness"
This drawing as well does not have a lot of meaning to it, it is an hommage to a band called "Words of Farewell" that became one of my very favourites over the course of those months, who have considerably deep lyrical texts that reflect our very every lifes and the struggles everybody knows and fights.
"This Shadow my Likeness" is one of the very theatrical, dramatic pieces of their work, which inspired me to draw this.

The crazy Hare by Scrathed
05. May: "The Crazy Hare"
An introduction of a new character, yet to evolve and become even more obscure, inspired by the creatures and characters from "Alice in wonderland" this lunatic, tea fanatic hare evolved.
This indeed was more meant to resemble the march hare from the famous novel, here in the possible shape of a tattoo design.
I really love this character and it would be so nice to actually get a little tattoo as a resemblance of that creature.

Muse by Scrathed
06. June: "Muse" (Or: "Ivo")
A way more meaningful one again, this is a portrait of a person that inspired me a lot this year. The musical mastermind Ivo Henzi is a metal artist located in Switzerland, known for his appearances and performances in Eluveitie, Cellar Darling and his Solo project Forest of Fog. Especially the latter one really grew on me this year and actually made me discover a new musical direction, but his works really stand out. The moods and atmospheres this man conveys are beyond my explanation, and that is why I depict them. Listening to his works really helps me create, even though most of the drawings I do while listening to his music turn out rather dark and morbid.

Go Back To Sleep... ex by Scrathed
07.July: "Go Back to Sleep" (Or: "Scrath you fucker, why can't you keep your goddamn mouth shut")
Having already reached a high on my emotional issues, this drawing actually was one of the later, not that harsh phases, but still, the creature with the horrid leathermask would not let go of my mind.
I discovered ink as a new means to convey my thoughts and feelings, and this one - actually being a test - turned out even more vivid and "Shows Scrath just as noone wants to see him", to quote a dear friend.
This is one of the most life-loaded images I have ever created of Scrath - thanks to the new way to create atmosphere.

Pickmans Model by Scrathed
08. August: "Pickman's Model"
In august this year I discovered the works of H.P.Lovecraft, which inspired me in so many ways. The stories of said author have become so important and vivid a part of my field of interests, they have inspired me to write again, to draw and paint, and this one, being the second hommage illustration for his stories, is about the artist Richard Upton Pickman, who discovered a gruesome secret that made him go insane...
In a way a character I could identify with, while warning me to be cautious not to turn into such a lunatic at the same time.

Sammelsurium 4.0 by Scrathed
09. September: "Sammelsurium 4.0"
In september, a new chapter of my life was started being written.
Since my previous attempts at moving, getting a job, going to uni etc. earlier this year did not work out at all, I got accepted at a uni in eastern germany, a foreign city I did not knew, but I knew that this was the perfect way for me to kill some time until being accepted at the university I really want to attend, while not doing nothing and learning about art history at the same time.
This drawing was created on the very last evening before leaving my old appartement without turning back yet (rather unplanned, thanks to traffic troubles and weather issues). It is a continuation of the "Sammelsurium"-series I developed over the year and by far my favourite one.

Long Live the King of the Wasteland by Scrathed
10. October: "Long live the King of the Wasteland!"
The october brought a lot of things with it. The ever returning autumn, a new city, a new environment, a new appartement, a new life - but old memories and pains connected to the former. Being rather alone and confused and thus lonely in a new, completely strange and unknown city made me feel very lost, since I actually felt like having lost all my social skills over the course of the year, and thus there was plenty of room for dark thoughts crawling back into my mind, reminding me of everything I did not have right then, and of everything I had lost in the autumn prior.
So the mood of my drawings shifted with my own again, producing terrible scenarios like this one. A dark, pharaotic emperor, ruling a wasteland after desert and devastation, conquering blind and helpless creatures, following him into the deep abysses that are his words and lectures...
Again, inspired by a song, "The Day after the Apocalypse", by Dagoba, as well as the music of Forest of Fog.

Cast Some Light by Scrathed
11. November: "Cast Some Light"
The november made the dark and rough autumn and with it my new recovered autumn pessimism reach its very peak. This drawing is an expression of everything right at that time. I felt like drowning in the past I wanted to flee by moving to a new town, while still not having found any people to spend amusive time with - and my desperate cry to Cast a reviving Light upon my distorted ghoulish face was heard - this day marked the pinnacle of darkness and desparation that brought light into my life again.
I found a very dear friend at university whom I spent a lot of time with since, whom I shared many interests with and who is a lovely person overall. I was to spend a few of the best moments of the very whole year with said person, who rather felt like being the one who had indeed cast a light upon me.

Marina by Scrathed
12. December: "Marina" (Or: "Room for one more Flower")
And in december finally, reaching the end of the year, I had gathered a small but fine group of great people around me to spend time with and to become real friends with. This very friend in particular was the one I started to spend even more time with, and being struck by the fact that she resembled everything I admired in life and people, and that she indeed even looked just like the people I loved watching and drawing on pages like tumblr and pinterest, I just had to ask her if I could draw her picture, to which she indeed agreed.
So this drawing kinda marks the point where I found the entrance back into the life of a normal person.
With the beginning of december I had finally completely overcome my "initial difficulties" in the new town, I had started obtaining a healthy lifestyle again and was maybe more lucky and thankful than through all the year - and now that I spend the christmas days with my family, which is a wonderful thing, I am indeed raring to return to my new home since now I can truly consider it that.
And this fact means a lot to me.

So, my dear fellow travellers, this was a brief view into the events that occured this year, what moved me, what made me do these drawings, from insignificant details to all the more important changes and choices in life.

I guess I'm just living the normal life of everybody else out there, with all its ups and downs, its splendours and issues all the like, but indeed I really fancy picturing it and finding a way to express my experiences throughout my drawings and paintings.

I hope this was to an extent entertaining for you, and thus wish you very merry festive days and a wonderful, positive new year.

Have a good night and greetings,
yours truly

Okay, so first of all, maybe some of you saw the status post I deleted right after yesterday.
With all the moving and starting uni-stuff of the last months I really neglected my Zandokhan-Story and I couldn't find any motivation to continue working on it until two or three weeks ago, and then yesterday, and I was like "Hm, maybe I can fix myself to continue writing Khans story when I tell you that I do!" but that's a dumb idea, so I deleted the post a few minutes later.

BECAUSE, I think I won't continue the Khan-Story in near future more than just very sporadically. So - don't expect new Khan-Chapters within the next months.

It's not that I lost interest in the story, the scenario or the characters, not at all, I'm still very fond of the story, even more since I've worked it out completely and all, but I really have no motivation - or better - interest in continuing a long-term, straight and strict set-scenario project like that one. Writing a chapter and uploading it is very nice, but not for me right now.
I really want to write at the moment, but not like that, what I need now is variety.
So instead I really grew to the stories of HP Lovecraft, which I'm rather bingereading in the last months, and short, compact stories, that have a start and an end you can read in one session are what I want to do right now.

So maybe some of you read my recent story -Beyond the Mist- , which is basically the best example for what I have in mind. Short stories that I can write in one or two sessions with not much more than a red line as preparation and something YOU can read in one session.
Edgar Allen Poe said(more or less): "A story unfolds its most effectiveness when the reader can experience the whole story from the start to the very end in only a single session" which is true. Of course long storys, novels etc lure you into their world, in best case they're immersive and you identify with the characters you get to know over the course of several hours, days, weeks. But Lovecrafts short stories show up, open a door and right after you walked through, they punch you right in the face, kick you in the guts, leave and never come back, and don't tell you what the fucking door was for.
And that's what I'd love to - metaphorically of course - do as well. Have a short and maybe shocking concussive impact on the reader because everything was experienced without necessarily taking a single break.

Oh yeah and also, I'm tired of writing in german, seriously.
So writing the short storys in english is on one side relieving and on the other side a good practice for me as well, and since I'm kinda trying to transform my online appearance to "English only" it's a good point to start. I really don't see the point in having german-exclusive content on this international website.

Sou yeah, this is what I have in mind at the moment.

TLDR:
I won't continue "Zandokhan" in near future since I need variety and not being bound to a fix scenario and I'm sick of writing in german, so I'll write short stories inspired by the tactics and structure of Lovecrafts stories.

Have a nice evening, and yiss, maybe there'll be a story uploaded later today.

Greets,
